How We Work

A Process Built on Transparency

Five deliberate stages — from a deep listening session to a styled handover. At every step, you know exactly where the project stands.

01
We begin by listening

Discovery

HighArchi design team conducting site survey and briefing

The Discovery phase is our most important conversation. Before a single line is drawn or a material is touched, we invest time in understanding you — your lifestyle, your aesthetic references, the way your household functions day to day, and your vision for what this space could become.

We begin with a detailed briefing session — usually at the property — where we walk the space together, discuss what works and what does not, and map out both the practical requirements and the aspirational qualities of the project. We ask questions that clients often haven't considered, and we listen carefully to the answers.

Following the briefing, we conduct a thorough site survey: measuring every room, photographing existing conditions, testing natural light at different times of day, and identifying any structural or technical constraints that will shape the design. This data becomes the foundation of every design decision that follows.

At the end of the Discovery phase, we produce a written project brief — a document that captures our shared understanding of the project, its scope, its budget, and its intent. This brief is the contract between us and the design.

You do
  • Attend briefing session at the property

  • Share reference images, mood boards, and inspirations

  • Provide access for site survey and photography

  • Share floor plans

We do
  • Conduct in-depth client briefing interview

  • Document existing conditions with photography

  • Identify structural and technical constraints

  • Research local suppliers and craft references

  • Produce written project brief for client approval

Ideas take form

Concept Design

HighArchi concept design mood board and material palette development

With a thorough understanding of your brief, we enter the most creative phase of the project: Concept Design. This is where the project finds its visual identity.

We develop concept directions for your project — each a coherent proposition for what the space could become. Each concept includes a spatial layout strategy, a curated mood board, a preliminary material and colour palette, and key design moves that define its character. The concepts are intentionally different: we explore the range of what is possible before narrowing to a single direction.

Concepts are presented in a structured session where we walk through each direction, explain the design thinking behind each decision, and invite your response. This is a conversation, not a pitch. We are looking for the direction that resonates most deeply, not the one that needs the least revision.

Following the presentation, we refine the selected concept into a unified design vision — a single, resolved proposition that becomes the basis for all detailed design work.

You do
  • Attend concept presentation session

  • Provide honest feedback on each direction

  • Select a preferred direction for development

We do
  • Produce mood boards and material palette for each concept

  • Prepare preliminary space plans and furniture layouts

  • Identify key design moves and architectural interventions

  • Present concepts in structured client session

  • Refine selected direction into unified concept vision

Every dimension resolved

Detailed Design

HighArchi detailed design drawings and 3D visualisation review

The Detailed Design phase translates the approved concept into a complete set of instructions for building. Nothing is left to interpretation. Every dimension, every material, every joint, every light position, every power point is resolved on paper before a single item is ordered or a single wall is touched.

We produce a full set of construction drawings: floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, electrical and lighting layouts, plumbing layouts, and detailed elevations of every built element — wardrobes, kitchens, bathroom vanities, built-in joinery, and feature walls. These drawings are dimensionally accurate and include all the information a contractor needs to price and build without improvisation.

In parallel, we produce a complete material and finish schedule — every surface, every fitting, and every fixture specified with supplier reference numbers. We source samples and present a physical material board for client approval. We also produce 3D visualisations of key rooms and moments, so you can see the space before it exists.

No fabrication begins and no contractor is briefed until this complete package is approved by you.

You do
  • Review and approve construction drawing set

  • Review physical material sample board

  • Approve 3D visualisations of key spaces

  • Confirm any final adjustments before fabrication begins

We do
  • Produce complete construction drawing package

  • Develop reflected ceiling plans with lighting layouts

  • Detail all joinery: wardrobes, kitchens, bathrooms, built-ins

  • Specify every material, finish, and fitting with supplier references

  • Source and assemble physical material sample board

  • Produce 3D visualisations for client review

  • Prepare contractor tender documentation

The plan becomes real

Execution

HighArchi team on site supervising construction and installation

The Execution phase is where the design becomes a physical reality. It is the longest phase of the project and the one that demands the most careful management.

We manage every aspect of the build and fit-out process on your behalf. We appoint and brief contractors, conduct regular site visits to check quality against our specifications, manage the programme to keep the project on schedule, and resolve the practical problems that arise on every construction site — because they always do.

Our site visits are structured: every visit produces a written site instruction record that documents what was reviewed, what was instructed, and what is due at the next visit. You receive a summary of each visit, so you always know what is happening on site without needing to be there.

We also manage procurement throughout execution — coordinating delivery dates for joinery, furniture, fittings, and appliances to ensure everything arrives at the right moment without creating storage problems or delays. At the end of the execution phase, we conduct a detailed snagging exercise to identify and resolve every defect before handover.

You do
  • Approve contractor appointments and programme

  • Review site visit summary reports

  • Make any urgent decisions flagged by the studio

  • Attend milestone walkthroughs at key stages

We do
  • Appoint and brief all contractors and suppliers

  • Conduct weekly site visits and produce written records

  • Manage programme and resolve scheduling conflicts

  • Coordinate procurement deliveries against site readiness

  • Conduct quality inspections at each stage of build

  • Manage client variations and their cost implications

  • Produce and resolve comprehensive snagging list

The reveal — your space, complete

Project Delivery

Completed HighArchi project — styled and ready for handover

Project Delivery is our favourite moment. After months of planning, designing, and building, the space is finally ready to be handed to you — and we want that handover to feel as special as it should.

Before the formal handover, our team spends a day styling the completed space: placing art, arranging accessories, adjusting lighting, dressing beds and sofas, and adding the final layer of detail that transforms a well-built room into a truly inhabited one. We do this because we believe that the first time you see the finished space should feel like a reveal — not a building site with furniture in it.

The handover itself is a structured walkthrough of the entire project. We explain every system — lighting control, heating, smart home features — and walk you through every joinery element, demonstrating how everything works and how to care for it. Following the walkthrough, we provide a comprehensive handover package: all warranties, supplier contacts, maintenance guides, and specification documents.

We remain available after handover for any questions, adjustments, or minor defects that emerge during the settling-in period.

You do
  • Attend the formal project walkthrough

  • Review the handover documentation package

  • Record any post-handover observations for our team

We do
  • Complete final styling of all rooms

  • Commission professional photography of the completed project

  • Conduct formal client walkthrough with system demonstrations

  • Provide comprehensive handover documentation package

  • Remain on call for post-handover support

  • Archive all project documentation for future reference

Stage One

Begin with Discovery

The first step is a conversation. No commitment, no fee — just an honest discussion about your project and whether we are the right studio for it.
